Solve puzzles regularly to keep dementia away
10 Apr 2022 (721 views)

My friend (74 yo) asked me - how you keep mentally active.

He said that his mind is now quite slow. He is afraid of dementia. Some of his elderly relatives have suffered from it. He said that it is now quite common among older people.

I told him that I exercised my mind regularly with tangram and other puzzles. I showed him how to solve the tangram puzzles.

After a few rounds, he found it to be quite useful in exercising his mind. It was not so difficult after all.

He asked - is this proven to help with dementia.

I said - I do not have any scientific proof. If I have, the puzzle would cost $10,000. But at $20, it is worth a try.

I showed him where to buy the puzzles:

Another friend said that he will try it with his wife, who is already suffering from mild dementia.

Another customer told me that she bought the puzzle and would encourage his father to try it.
